Fontana Forni.

Fontana Forni is an Italian oven maker, still run by the Fontana family, building wood-fired, gas, and dual-fuel domed pizza ovens out of their factory in Italy. Pinecraft Barbecue carries the Fontana Forni line and orders the line through the Sarasota showroom for anyone building a dedicated outdoor pizza station.

A dome built to hold real heat.

The Fontana Forni dome shape is what lets these ovens climb to true pizzeria temperatures and hold them through a whole cook. In our catalog, the range covers wood-only ovens for anyone chasing the smoke flavor, dual-fuel ovens that let a cook switch between wood and gas depending on the night, and countertop-sized units for a smaller patio.

The Pinecraft connection

Fontana Forni maker

The showroom conversation usually starts with how you want to cook pizza, not with a recap of who owns the factory. Some people want a dedicated outdoor pizza station as the centerpiece of a new island. Others already have a grill and want the oven on its own stand. We look at fuel storage, venting, and how much counter you actually have before we talk about which Fontana Forni oven to order. If a full built-in pizza station is the goal rather than a single freestanding oven, our other pizza gear, from Halo's rotating-stone oven to Green Mountain Grills' pellet-grill attachment, is on the pizza ovens page.

For a permanent pizza oven built into an outdoor kitchen island, licensed contractors we work with install it once you have picked your oven here.

A dedicated oven versus an attachment

All pizza gear

Fontana Forni is not the only way to cook pizza outdoors in our catalog, and the difference is worth knowing before you order one. Halo's Versa 16 is a propane rotating-stone oven that reaches up to 950 degrees Fahrenheit and is ready for dough in about twelve minutes; it's a standalone unit rather than a built-in dome. Green Mountain Grills sells a pizza oven attachment and matching peel that turn an existing pellet grill into a pizza cooker without buying a second appliance. A Fontana Forni sits at the other end of that range: a purpose-built dome meant to be the centerpiece of a dedicated pizza station rather than an add-on to something else.

That distinction matters most when you're planning the space around the oven. A Halo or a pellet-grill attachment can live on an existing counter. A Fontana Forni, especially the larger wood-fired models, usually gets its own stand or built-in surround, which is a conversation for our outdoor kitchen design team rather than a simple drop-in swap.

Before you order

Fitting a Fontana Forni into an outdoor kitchen

Most people who ask about Fontana Forni already have a spot picked out on the lanai or a rough idea of how much counter or stand space the oven needs. We walk through fuel choice first, since a wood-only oven needs somewhere to store fuel and vent smoke, while a dual-fuel or gas model fits closer to the rest of the kitchen's gas run. If the oven is going into a full outdoor kitchen build alongside a grill, our grill inserts guide covers the built-in side of that same project.

For coastal placement, read our salt air and humidity guide before you decide how exposed the oven's stand or surround will be. Licensed contractors we work with handle any masonry or built-in surround once the oven and layout are chosen here.
