New grill inserts, same kitchen.
A grill insert swap lets Pinecraft Barbecue fit a new built-in grill into an existing outdoor kitchen opening instead of rebuilding the whole station. We've partnered with a team of granite specialists who can modify existing openings to fit new grill inserts, and the current built-in lineup runs through Delta Heat, Twin Eagles, and Napoleon's 700 Series.
Can you replace just the grill in an existing outdoor kitchen?
The built-in grill inserts Pinecraft Barbecue offers include Delta Heat, Twin Eagles, and the Napoleon 700 Series. Twin Eagles built-in grills are engineered gas grills built for outdoor kitchen islands, and Napoleon's 700 Series is a built-in gas grill line with advanced grilling features. Delta Heat rounds out the lineup with its own built-in gas grill models.
Pinecraft Barbecue has partnered with a team of granite specialists who can modify existing openings to fit new grill inserts, so an aging or broken grill doesn't have to mean tearing out the counters around it. For a swap or a new outdoor kitchen, licensed contractors we work with install it.

How to measure your existing cutout
Measure the clear opening, not the old grill: width from side to side, depth from the front edge to the back wall, and height from the support ledge to the countertop underside. Also record the countertop thickness and the distance from the opening to the nearest wall, post, or combustible surface. Take the measurements in inches at several points because stone and stucco openings are not always square.
Bring photos of the full island, the opening with the old insert removed, the gas connection, the electrical outlet, and the underside of the counter. A cutout template is the manufacturer's dimensioned drawing or full-size pattern that shows the opening, support ledges, overhang, and clearance points. Napoleon publishes cutout dimensions in its 700 Series guide, while Twin Eagles and Delta Heat publish them in their specification sheets and installation manuals.
Checked 2026-09-02, the Napoleon Built-In Series owner's manual gives the BIG32-1 / BI32 minimum opening as 30 inches wide, 33.50 inches for X, 19.4 inches deep, and 10.25 inches high on printed page 6. The BIG32RBPSS-1 product page says planning and installation have a 2-inch (5.08 cm) tolerance for cut-outs. Those numbers are for that model only; the manufacturer's manual governs the model you select.

Matching fuel: natural gas versus propane inserts and conversion kits
Start with the fuel already at the island. Delta Heat's current gas manual says an LP grill uses its factory-supplied regulator and hose with a 20 pound LP cylinder. It also says a natural-gas grill's regulator can be converted to 10 inches water column for system LP, but not for a 20 pound cylinder. Twin Eagles states the same system-LP limitation in its gas-grill manual and requires the specified regulator and hose.
The practical decision is the gas source, the regulator setting, the shutoff location, and the enclosure ventilation. A conversion kit does not make every insert compatible with every gas setup. On 2026-09-02, the Delta Heat manual and Twin Eagles manual both directed gas connections to qualified technicians and the applicable local codes. Licensed contractors handle gas and electrical work.
What changes when the new grill is a different size
A wider insert may need a wider opening, a deeper insert may run into the back wall, and a taller hood can change the clearance above the counter. The partnered granite specialists modify existing openings when the new model needs a different cutout. Pinecraft designs outdoor kitchens and supplies the equipment. Licensed contractors we work with install it.
Do not ask a stone specialist to guess from the face width printed in a catalog. Give them the exact model number and the manufacturer's cutout template. The Twin Eagles C Series 36 sheet lists a 34.25 by 24.25 by 11.75 inch opening. The Delta Heat manual lists the DHBQ32 at 30.5 by 19.75 by 9.5 inches. That is why an old 32 inch opening is not a universal measurement.
| Napoleon BIG32 | 30 in W minimum, X 33.50 in, 19.4 in D, 10.25 in H |
|---|---|
| Twin Eagles C36 | 34.25 in W, 24.25 in D, 11.75 in H |
| Delta Heat DHBQ32 | 30.5 in W, 19.75 in D, 9.5 in H |

Venting and clearance
Clearance is model-specific. Twin Eagles' gas-grill manual calls for at least 2.5 inches behind the grill and 6 inches at the sides from noncombustible construction, with 12 inches at the sides and back from combustible construction. Delta Heat's manual lists 3 inches behind the grill above the cooking surface and recommends 6 inches at the sides near noncombustible construction. The manufacturer's manual governs the chosen insert.
A screen enclosure changes the conversation because wind, heat, and overhead materials affect the appliance. Read the lanai and screen-enclosure guide, then ask the licensed contractor and the manufacturer about the exact location. Pinecraft does not decide code, permits, HOA rules, or setbacks.
| Twin Eagles | 2.5 in back and 6 in sides, noncombustible |
|---|---|
| Delta Heat | 3 in back and 6 in sides, noncombustible |
| Combustible surfaces | Use the manufacturer's listed insulation jacket |
| Lanai question | Read the enclosure guide and manual |
What to bring to the showroom
Bring the width, depth, and height of the opening, countertop thickness, wall distance, and clear photos. Add the old grill's model plate if it has one, the original cutout template, the gas type, the location of the shutoff valve, and the outlet location. If the counter is stone, note whether the opening has a lip, seam, or rounded corner that a template may not show.
Pinecraft can compare the measurements with Delta Heat, Twin Eagles, and Napoleon built-in options, then identify the manufacturer's current template for the model under consideration.
